Near the river Mures...

I love being back in my hometown and what I think it's really wonderful, is that my husband loves it there too! 'Everything is simpler' he says... and it is! People interact much more than other places we lived in, they communicate and know each other, which makes solving anything a bit simpler... He also likes our markets, where people still sell stuff in a very basic level... no fancy shop designs, wrappings or credit card payments... The way families are closer and more involved in each others lives!
Although we spent most of our time there inside, we were blessed with weather too good to pass a walk in the fresh air, by the river Mures. Here is what we saw...

Christmas 1.0

There was a lot of excitement around the Christmas celebrations this year and us returning home to our families is one of the reasons behind it!
We celebrated Christmas 2x this year, making it even more special! My family in Romania prepared in advance, but there was nothing missing even though we celebrated on the 14th of December!
There was joy, there was singing, Santa Claus and a beautiful Christmas tree, a ton of sparkly  wrapped gifts for everyone and lots of hugging and kissing and love!
Of course we also had amazing good food and cookies and we also made sure to be extra loud, as it always is, when the entire family gathers together! :D

Happy Holidays! :D

A bit late here on the blog, but nevertheless joyful, I wish you all wonderful Christmas celebrations and a New Year full of luck, happiness and all that is good in the world! :)

Off to Europe!

And the time has finally come! Time to fly back home, the home where our roots are!
Since we live so far away and have family and friends in two different countries, it only made sense to spend the Holidays between Romania and Germany!

First up, Arad, my cozy little hometown. But to get there, we had to make a short stop in our other home, Munich. Now it matters much less that we were dead tired after flying through the night from Abu Dhabi and getting little sleep to the point of being nauseous...

What really stayed with me from that day, was the first contact with the cold, fresh air, the comfort of knowing our way around, the Christmas market outside of the airport, with trees and lights and sugary almonds that we could smell from far away, the family that came to meet us even though the way to the airport took longer than the actual time we got to spent together and it was still worth it! And casually meeting an old friend, a very beautiful person, that I didn't have the opportunity to see since too long...

Then we flew home, to my family, that was missing us and that we missed deeply in the last 6 months/1 year of being far away....

On the Gugu Boat

We came to the end of Nina&Ismael's vacation, with an event that I think was just the cherry on top. The salsa boat party organized by Salsa Caribe, in Dubai. This is an amazing group of people, doing their thing on the Salsa scene and doing it right! They are nice, fun and open-minded and it's a pleasure being amongst them. So this event couldn't have been a better match, before our guests returned to good, cold Germany!

The day started with a bit of skepticism as far as the weather goes, because going out in Abu Dhabi, we realized we are on the verge of a typhoon instead of a beautiful sunny day, fit for a boat ride!

As we made our way towards Dubai, a sense of relief came over us as the sun conquered the windy-sandy-cloudy mess of a weather which was soon completely behind us.

So off we went to embark on the Gugu Boat and enjoy our Caribbean-style party!

We were more than happy to have our dear Nina&Ismael in Abu Dhabi(and Dubai), as we were always used to sharing our lives with them. This time, we tried to share as much as we could from the new lifestyle and surroundings we have in our home.

There is plenty more to do and see, so we are already looking forward to their next visit!

Until then, there will be more traveling for all of us, sharing and caring over the fast-approaching Winter Holidays, which I am really looking forward to.

It will definitely be a fun switch of imagery here on my little blog, as we are about to trade palm trees, beaches and t-shirt weather, for gloves, hats and Christmas trees! :)
