Insta-moments

To say that I had some extremely uneventful days this past week, would be a gross  understatement. Yes people! I have absolutely nothing to do, nor did I particularly feel like doing much. The only thing going strong on my list of priorities is regularly getting my butt kicked in the gym and juicing not that regularly...
So what you are about to see, are some snaps I caught with my phone cos I dont think i remember how to use my real camera anymore. Going to an open-mic night, which was kind of fun, having some guests over for dinner (I cooked lamb for the first time and it really didn't suck!), listening to some really nice arabic music, performed by my husband and said guests...that was actually a really great evening - must repeat. Then you have my attempts of staying on track with juicing and having healthy snacks throughout the day and a surprising abundance of selfies...which I am hoping not to get to attached to, cos I do seem pretty ridiculous while doing them... there you go...

To Read :

I love books! And bookshops! And spending time in bookshops picking out books!
The entire process just gives me imense pleasure. Bringing home a brand new book or two... The thrill of the unknown story inside those covers... I love it all. Good that we've got that out of the way!  :)

When I finally got to have my own home, meaning not just a room in my parents house, the first thing that got me really excited was the thought of putting together my own little collection of books to read and love and leave behind for my future generations.

This should be a no biggie, you go to the bookstore, pick up the books you want, pay up and go home to install them nicely on the brand new shelves. The thing is, I made a silly little promise that I would only have books that I have read on my shelves. I didn't want to have shelves that look good, but totally meaningless in content, so I would have to read all of the books that I put in there. Well, this worked for a little while...I was getting new books, read them, put them away on the shelves, sometimes I would cheat a little and get books that I have already read, but really waned to have in my collection, books I thought my husband might want to read or might be of use to my future children...

Then at one point it all stopped working, cos it seemed to me that my bookshelves weren't filling up fast enough, not to mention that I have been known to reward myself with brand new shiny books every once in a while, after a bad day... some women get makeup and shoes, I get books and pretty new notebooks. Ok... Ok...and flowers, drawing tools, fruits, mani/pedi's, bedsheets, DVD's, ice cream, etc... But that's just me!

So as you might imagine...with the time, my collection of books, although still small,  took a really nice shape. I am quite proud of it. BUT, there are way too many books in there that I didn't get to read yet. So this year, I will do my best to read some. I don't have a crazy number in mind like 30 or 50 (some people do!), but I think I will just start off with these lovely titles right here:

It's quite a mix! Just the way I like it!   :D

Adventures in film photography

These pictures are amongst my absolute favorite thus far! They capture such nice, happy moments!

The range of topics is also kind of funny.... from Romanian traditions (not pictured, because of my fear of causing a bit of controversy) and Christmas time, to a perfect day at the beach in Abu Dhabi, just before the weather decided to turn gloomy. There is a bonus picture of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which I think looks pretty cool...

Sweet Yasmine

Observing babies as they discover the world around them is indeed something magnificent. The way they get distracted by sounds and lights or the way they touch and feel everything around them, driven by curiosity and eagerness to learn, the surprising things that actually entertain them, like keys, remote controls, a piece of paper, a cardboard box... There is nothing cuter!

The last time we were in Germany, around Christmas, we met our wonderful godparents, who are  the proud parents of baby Yasmine.  I know people often say this about their own, but she is such a good and smart little girl! Not to mention she's got the most magnetic eyes. Absolutely beautiful!  She is certainly going to do some damage when she grows up!  :P

Now let me tell you... a sweet baby girl trying lemon...and then asking for more! Now that is the cutest thing I've ever seen!  :)

     Such a sweet little angel!

From January...

My mother in law visited at the beginning of January, but with everything that has happened to us this beginning of the year, I just could not keep up posting about the things we did or saw during her vacation. Here are some snaps, just to catch up...

This month...

This is not your regular February image...Except it is, because here where we live, temperatures are around 23-27 degrees, perfect for strolling around markets, picnics in the park, volleyball at the beach, open air concerts and drinks with friends on balconies with amazing views...
I will try not to rub it too much in the faces of all of my dear friends experiencing regular winter time back in Europe and I'll move on to my to do list for the month of February...

I will...
