Bucharest (part II)

In the afternoon of our day to Bucharest, with a well rested baby and rumbling tummies we braved out into the cold again. We were going to make the most of our stay no matter what! No sub 0 temperatures would scare us! :D

Miscarriage is a word you don't hear very often. It has a cold, frightening sound to it, kind of like the creepy melody in classic horror movies...

I skipped another month without posting much, but I will have to be excuesed, as I literally could not find the time or inspiration to sit down and get to it. I have been either out and about, buzzing around trying to put my thoughts in order, caring for a sickly toddler or immersed in the entire series of The Walking Dead.

In the following photo dump, you will see bits and bobs of our time this month, whatever we captured on our phones...

Practice photos (II)

Alexia is not only smart, beautiful and a lot of fun, but she can also pose really well in from of the camera. This gives me a great opportunity to practice using all the functions of my camera. Learning more about the manual settings has been a slow process for me, mainly because I don't always find the time or have the mood to go out and play with it, but when I get that chance I get very into it, very quick!

Home in September

Here's one of my last posts from being back home in Romania in September... It was such a wonderful time... I've mentioned it before, but it's worth repeating... There's no place like home!

Fun and games

I made it a clear goal to spend as much time outside as possible while in Europe. I mean, if we went to the sacrifice of being apart from Daddy, managed to escape the great summer heat in Abu Dhabi, we might as well make it truly worth it!

Taking stock 12

making: appointments (Dr. check-up, vaccination for the little one, places to go to with our guests, people to meet, playdates)
cooking: more at home. We started out great, but I feel very tempted by the fall change in menus all around Abu Dhabi... this place has the most amazing eateries! Did I mention Dubai is just a stone's throw around the corner?!
drinking: lots of chamomile and peppermint tea... I caught the most annoying cold of the century!
wanting: to do so many things!
looking: at Pinterest images all day long. It's for our future collaborative blog...
wasting: not that much... We seem to have our stuff sorted out this time...
wishing: I could manage to do a digital detox... Sometimes soon!
enjoying: the amazing weather  we are having right now!! Finally can spend time outside and that's just what we'll do!
waiting: to receive our guest next week! We truly love having people over!
liking: the things that have been popping up on my Facebook wall lately... (more and more great events, cool people, motivating speeches, wonderful places to see, interesting recommendations...)
wondering: how much could I read until the end of the year...
loving: being back home to our own rhythm, with our own stuff, with all the cool things to do in Abu Dhabi and all the nice people to meet...... being away for a while certainly gives you a better sense of appreciation...
hoping:  we can stay active and accomplish most of the things on our to-do list
marveling: at how many events are happening now that the cooler season is upon us!
needing: to book my next photography workshop and work on taking better pictures.
smelling: the last addition to my perfume collection...
wearing: converse and broken jeans... I need to get the memo that I am in Abu Dhabi now...  :D
listening: a mix of Sia, Celine Dion, Adele, Alicia Keys, Joe Cocker, Kodaline, Prince, Jesse Daniel Smith...
noticing: money is just slipping away...a little bit here...a little bit there... My savings plan is outta town!
knowing: that we need to declutter and get rid of stuff, but dreading the moment I actually have to start doing it...
thinking: about our time in Europe. It was great! Still have some photos I would like to share...
feeling: like a responsible adult (sometimes)
bookmarking:hotel offers for us to have a staycation soon...
opening: a bag of chips! I know!!! The horror! To my defence, I haven't had chips since the first trimester of pregnancy, which is almost 2 years ago... It's bad... I know...
giggling: with my daughter...she is discovering dancing, drawing, cartoons... It's the most wonderful opportunity to be able to join her in all of that!

A date in Munich

Nothing made me happier than the period of time I have spent with my husband while in Europe. He obviously couldn't stay the entire 3 months like I did, because, well...someone's got to work!   :)

We were together for a while though, both in Arad and Munich and it just made me feel complete.  I am never more 'myself', active, motivated and full of life then when we are together. We love chatting, envisioning our plans for the future, walking, watching the world pass by, together.

This one day in Munich, we took advantage of Nina and Ismael's kind offer to watch Nalia and hopped a couple of blocks away for a mid-day, old-fashioned date. It was lovely!

Hello Munich!

Ah...our time in Munich came and went and as usual...I am way behind on posting on the blog. Will get right to it. I'll promise to find no more excuses...

So...back to our post... Munich was a great time! We really enjoyed the great weather,  walked (a lot!), met all of our friends, visited family, had a lot of ice-cream, got to go to the park, biergarten, playgrounds (and biergarten's playground, ha!),  shopped a lot, went to the cinema, ate a lot of goodies my mother-in-law prepared for us...

And Nalia surely had a lot of fun, she went by the Isar, fed the ducks and swans, made new friends, she got more attached to her aunties and uncles, loved going with the b-bahn and saying hello and bye to everyone!! She tried so many different things, I could see her noticing new things like the big old trees and the pebbles at the playground and all the new sounds around her. She definitely experienced different emotions. It's just so beautiful to watch her grow and develop so much, but at the same time it scares me a bit as I am constantly feeling a bit unprepared for the next stage around the corner...

One thing I really must say tho, I am so impressed with her for being such a good and patient little girl... She amazes me all the time! She is so sweet, happy and generous, a good listener and a gentle, caring little soul. I love her to the moon and back and I a so extremely happy I get to be her momma!

I hope you are ready for about a ton of pictures we took all in the span of 1 day!

^^she quickly made a new friend, this is Imani, who's hand she wouldn't let go

Hot day in the city (Arad)

This was one of the last days we spent together in Arad before all of us left for Munich. We took a short walk with our friends, on the Mures river, enjoying each others company. Tried out the children's play area, walked on the new bridge going to 'Strandul Neptun' and snapped some pictures along the way.

I can't help but feel all the feels about my hometown. There's some serious chemistry going on between us this time around. I love it in every season, you have a little bit of everything here, I felt inspired to do things, to read, to listen to certain people, certain music,  it made me feel young again, it made me hopeful and motivated for the future, makes me want to participate, to change, most importantly, my little girl's happiness just took over everything else and I couldn't help but see it as an amazing place to raise a family.

Sure, there are plenty of things to improve. But this city has an amazing foundation and it's people are incredibly connected (in time of need).  It felt so good to be here... So good in fact that we decided to postpone flying to Abu Dhabi by an entire extra month and return to spend more time together in Arad until the end of September. But it was good bye for now and off to Germany...

Budapest (part II)

I've traveled to Budapest before, but for some reason it's always been a one day stop... I can tell you right now, that is not enough!

The city is absolutely beautiful, people are cool, food is awesome and reasonably priced and they must have the best furnished cafes and restaurants I've seen!
